Calvary golfers hit links in Florida

Four members of Calvary's state golf championship team are playing successfully at the PGA Village in the Nations Golf Tournament this week.

Daniel Hawkins, Chase Leone, Hunter Gauntlett and Blake Traweek are in Port St. Lucie, Florida enjoying the competition on the golf course.

In the skills competition, Hawkins got second place in the long drive challenge. Traweek came in third in the accuracy competition, and Gauntlett placed third in putting.

In the team scramble, Calvary shot a 18-under par 54 to take first place over a team of prep golfers from Utah.

The tournament continues through Thursday, July 1, with the guys playing 18 holes each day.

Accompanying the golfers are coaches Rusty Ward and Rodney Traweek.

Incidentally, Gauntlett was named the KSLA Athlete of the Week last week.
