Calvary's boys golf team finds itself in a familiar place after the first day of competition in the state championship tournament in Alexandria Monday. The Cavaliers find themselves in first place with a score of 297 with Dunham the closest to them in second place with a 316. Last year's state champion, Episcopal, the team that beat Calvary for the title in in a sudden-death playoff, is tied for third and fourth places with a 317 with Menard. Daniel Hawkins was the leader for Calvary coming in with a 72 after one-day of play. Hunter Gauntlett had a 73, Ryan Mastney finished up with a 75, Chase Leone turned in a 77 and freshman Blake Traweek fired a 78. The final round is scheduled for Tuesday at the same golf course in Alexandria. |
